Amanda Salmick | LCSW in the state of Oregon

Amanda Salmick

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon, holding a Master of Arts in Clinical Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, along with a graduate-level Mental Health Certificate and a B.A. in Human Services from Western Washington University.

I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings and have experience working with clients from a multitude of cultures, genders, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds. My background includes case management and advocacy at an emergency family shelter, where I supported families in crisis, providing immediate support and resources to those in urgent need. I also worked in suicide crisis intervention, providing immediate support and stabilization, helping clients navigate their immediate needs while also setting the foundation for ongoing recovery. Additionally, I have experience in outpatient substance use disorder treatment, offering both group and individual therapy to help clients navigate their recovery journeys. I co-facilitated DBT skills groups at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Women’s Mood and Anxiety Clinic, where I collaborated with women facing a variety of emotional and mental health challenges. In these groups, I guided clients through the core modules of DBT: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. For the past five years, I have been providing individual outpatient therapy to clients with a wide range of challenges, including individuals living with trauma histories, addictions, cluster B presentations, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder.

My commitment to ongoing learning allows me to provide thoughtful and effective care for my clients. I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 Brainspotting trainings through Pacific Brainspotting Trainings and am a certified Brainspotting practitioner. I have also completed Level 1 and Level 2 trainings in Internal Family Systems through the IFS Institute, as well as Level 1 training in Coherence Therapy.

When I’m not in session I enjoy time with close family and friends, traveling, watching live music, collecting records, horseback riding, and spending time in nature. I am also a proud pet parent of two German Shepherds, Snax and Maple, and a tabby cat named Gus.
